Convert mesh to solid

Hi there!

Im trying to convert this mesh https://a360.co/3b87MmP into a solid preferably all individual cubes. for some reason when converting to brep fusion makes weird looking cubes out of them and for some reason im not able to remesh it. also triangulating and trying to remesh does not same to help.

anyone any ideas?

would greatly be appreciated

Please post the original .stl or .obj file. I can then probably show you how to clean this up before converting the mesh into BRep.

If this does not work, then you'll have to re-design this. It's very simple to do but will be a good bit of copy/pasting due to the number of individual objects.

Obviously re-meshing this does not make any sense whatsoever!

Hey TrippyLighting,

Thanks for the help! maybe a bit of background would also be good, its from a sketch up model, and would like to have it into a solid model as sketch up and 3D printing does something wierd.

i tried multiple ways, via importing the sketchup model, obj and stl but keep running into the same issues.

oh bay the way from stl i sometimes got it to work but often the stitching would not work even tough they are touching.

here are the files hope you are able to find a way to convert it!

I looked at the .obj file in Blender. I am assuming the geometry was created by some form of algorithm that did not consider mesh quality. Before I spend any time experimenting, can you please explain what you intend to do with this ?

Thanks for looking at it! the intent of the model would be to edit the towers and have functional stl models at the end. as of now Cura makes weird errors when importing the stl models now.

the bigger towers need to be in halve to be able to fit on the print bed

If the input is a .stl model and the output is a .stl model then there are little to no reasons to do this with Fusion 360. Meshes are not the native geometry for Fusion 360.

What dimensions is this supposed to have ?

Thanks for the advice, what other program would you suggest?

we would like to print it on a 1:20 scale so each cube would be 2,5 cm wide

My recommendation would be to start with Autodesk Meshmixer.

As you can see the overall dimensions of the boundary volume is way larger than fits on a reasonably sized 3D printer.

Scaling works fine in MM, leaves a wall thickness of 2mm which is printable:
