A collection of incredible cookie recipes and cookie-inspired recipes from Certified Pastry Aficionado over the years

The Best Cookie Recipes! (1)

One of my favorite traditions here at CPA has been the monthly cookie recipe. It started as a way to try new cookie recipes (because who can have enough cookie recipes…) but it has turned into a fun way to rethink the flavors, textures, and presentation of cookies.

For this month, instead of giving you guys a new recipe, I want to take a look back at some of your favorite recipes (and some of mine too). Let’s get started, shall we?

Best Cookie Recipe for a Crowd – S’mores Cookie Cake

I first made this cookie cake for a dinner part I was hosting. It was a huge success, mostly due to the gooey consistency and recognizable flavors. I’ve kept it in my repertoire ever since – I even made it for my nephew’s birthday a few weeks later. After sharing it with you guys, you’ve gone crazy for this recipe and made it one of the most popular recipes on the blog to this day.

Best Adaptation of Chocolate Chip Cookie – Sea Salt Toffee Chocolate Chip Cookie

Chocolate chip cookies are a classic. But sometimes you just wanna switch things up a bit, am I right?? So for these cookies I wanted to add some grown-up flavors to the classic cookie by incorporating oats, toffee, and sea salt into the mix. Looks like I wasn’t the only one who was craving this adaptation because you guys have been obsessed with this recipe ever since!

The Best Cookie Recipes! (3)

Best Festive Cookie – Pumpkin Snickerdoodles

This recipe for pumpkin snickerdoodles was one of the first pumpkin recipes I ever made wayyyy back in the day. Even years later, however, it has remained one of my favorite festive cookies of all time because of the moist, yet dense texture and comforting cinnamon flavor. It also appears to be one of your favorites too, as it is easily the most popular festive cookie on the blog.

Best Fancy Cookie Recipe – Nutella Macarons

I had struggles perfecting the French macaron. But after taking a class at Sur la Table, I finally got them right. I shared all my tips and tricks for making the perfect macaron in my post for Nutella Macarons. It’s been a top recipe on this blog ever since so it seems like you guys really loved those tips. Or maybe you just love Nutella…

Either way, you guys have continued to make this recipe throughout the years and it remains one of the most popular recipes ever and most certainly the most popular “fancy” cookie on the blog.

The Best Cookie Recipes! (5)

Best Non-Chocolate Cookie Recipe – Raspberry Almond Linzer Cookies

The Best Cookie Recipes! (6)

I’ve participated in my fair share of Cookie Exchanges during the holidays. What I love most about them is the ability to taste cookies that I’ve never had before. During one of these exchanges, I got to try Raspberry Almond Thumbprint cookies and fell head over heels for the flavor.

I used that cookie for inspiration and took it up a notch with these Linzer cookies.

Easiest Cookie Recipe – Monster Cookies

Monster cookies get their name for the monster list of ingredients loaded in this cookie – peanut butter, M&M’s candies, oats, and chocolate chips. It may sound like these cookies are too rich and decadent, but the oats lighten them up. So much so that I end up eating them for breakfast whenever they’re lying around.

This cookie recipe is one of my all-time favorites, mostly because I can make these in a jiffy since the dough doesn’t need to chill before baking. There was a time that I was making these almost every week! But then my waistline hated me for it so I eased up a bit.

The Best Cookie Recipes! (7)

Most Popular Cookie Recipe – Funfetti Whoopie Pies

I hadn’t made any whoopie pies before this recipe. In fact, I barely had even tried them before. Traditional whoopie pies are made with a chocolate cake and marshmallow filling. Neither of those flavors were super exciting to me.

But I was inspired to make these treats my own. Funfetti was always a flavor I loved growing up so I decided to use those flavors in my version of a whoopie. And it looks like you guys loved this interpretation just as much as I did. It remains in the top 10 recipes on the blog and is easily the most popular cookie recipe to date.

The Best Cookie Recipes! (8)

My Favorite Cookie Recipe – Kentucky Derby Cookie Bars

Okay, this “cookie” recipe is a little bit of a stretch because it’s in bar-form. However, once you try them, you’ll forget all bout the details. I made these twice in one week and couldn’t stop eating them. I was obsessed with the moist, yet gooey center, the sticky bourbon sauce, and the little crunchy bites of pecans and chocolate chips that would appear every so often. I couldn’t get enough of them!

The Best Cookie Recipes! (9)

With all these cookie recipes, you sure have yourself tons of inspiration for your baking adventures this weekend. Which one are you excited to make most? Or maybe you’ve already made one of these before? Either way, share your thoughts in the comments below!

FAQs

What is the most successful cookie? ›

Oreo is the best-selling cookie in the world. It is now sold in over 100 countries. Oreo was first produced in 1912 by the National Biscuit Company, now known as Na-Bis-Co.

What makes the best cookies? ›

The best cookies have layers of texture. A slightly crisp outer shell that holds up to some heat with an inner core that's soft and chewy. Premium cookies taste great at room temperature, straight out of the fridge or slightly heated. Creating cookies in small batches is key.

Do you flatten chocolate chip cookies before baking? ›

Just before the dough goes in the oven, I take each ball of dough, and flatten it slightly. I then press chunks of chopped chocolate onto the top. You can add some of the chocolate dust from chopping too. Then I squeeze it back into a ball, and place it on the baking sheet.
