Andy Cohen to be added to the St. Louis Walk of Fame (2024)

Entertainment multi-hyphenate and hometown boy-made-good Andy Cohen will join the firmament of stars on the St. Louis Walk of Fame next month. The Emmy-winning host and producer is responsible for shows likeWatch What Happens Livewith Andy Cohenand theReal Housewivesfranchise, and is the author of multiple bestselling books.

Cohen’s star reveal and induction ceremony are May 5 at 5 p.m., and he’s in prime real estate right in front of the Moonrise Hotel. He’ll attend and make remarks at the ceremony.

Joe Edwards, founder of the nonprofitWalk of Fame, says he’s thrilled to recognize Cohen. Edwards, a longtime fan, has a Cohen bobblehead and photo with Cohen proudly displayed atBlueberry Hill.

“St. Louis generates more talent, I think, than pretty much any other city in the country,” says Edwards, a noted booster of the city. “Because of our east to west migration, north to south migration, all sorts of cultures interacted and created an explosion of talent.”

Edwards says he admires Cohen’s genuine charm and gift for connecting.

“He’s a great interviewer, because he’s really animated and interested in the people he’s interviewing,” says Edwards. “Just his energy brings out the best in people.”

The 120-person Walk of Fame selection committee includes university chancellors, arts organization heavy hitters, writers, and more. Edwards is proud of the diversity of the committee and the broad lens the members bring to the selection process.

“We find a lot of people who are overlooked—not that Andy is overlooked, his personality wouldn’t allow that—but a lot of people have been inducted [that make people think,] Gosh, I didn’t know that person did such great things!” Edwards says.

Edwards is a great fan of the on-air chemistry between Cohen and his dear friend Anderson Cooper, and says he’ll wear a tie that Cooper complimented a few years back to Cohen’s induction ceremony as a salute to their friendship.

Cohen will attend the May 5 ceremony with his parents, who still live in St. Louis.

“It’s great that St. Louisans still love St. Louis,” says Edwards.
